One recent instance was a video of a white woman at Ross clothing store who was caught on camera hurling racial slurs at the Black store manager. This incident was captured and posted to TikTok by one user, with over 2 million views since.
In the video, a white woman can be heard shouting, “You ignorant mother f*cking bitch.” When her manager requests that she leave, she continues to hurl racial epithets at him before finally saying she will be “going home soon.”
This shocking racist act shows how easy it is for white women to assume moral authority over others. We can learn a valuable lesson from this every time someone attempts to police a Black person under false pretenses or demands they cease doing something because of their race.
Another notable incident from New York City in 2020 occurred when Christian Cooper was observing a man walking his dog in Central Park when he spotted Karen with her dog off leash. He clearly called out to her about it.
