Have you seen or heard the name “Karen?” It has become the go-to title for virtually every white woman caught on video saying or doing something racialized or entitled.
Karens can be a real nuisance, particularly when they target Black people and call the police over seemingly minor matters. That is why it’s essential to know what steps to take if you come across one of these difficult-to-deal-with women in everyday life.
What is the Typical Age Range of Racist, Rude, and Entitled Karens Who Get Arrested?
Recently, you may have come across an “entitled Karen.” These white women often engage in offensive remarks and criticism on social media platforms like Twitter or Instagram, and they have often become the targets of racist and misogynistic attacks.
They’re an unwelcoming group who believe they have the right to make other people’s lives difficult. Many possess a strong sense of entitlement and want to be seen as “in control.”
Karens are typically middle-aged white women who use their privilege to gain what they desire from others or point out others’ behaviors. They may have a social media account or access online video recording devices.
These videos often go viral on social media platforms. While they can be humorous and eye-opening, they also carry potential danger.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and other issues like furloughs, layoffs and lockdowns, many Karens and Kens have felt threatened and insecure. According to Lillian Glass – a communications and body language expert – these situations have only added fuel to their resentments.
Some of the most renowned Karens, such as #CentralParkKaren who called the police on a Black birdwatcher for asking her to leash her dog in Central Park, have received international notoriety. Nevertheless, it should be noted that most of these incidents involve false accusations.
This kind of behavior is highly problematic, as it constitutes a form of racial profiling which can harm people of color. It makes them feel unsafe which in turn leads to anxiety and depression.
Another way a “Karen” can cause harm to people of color is by making false accusations. Last November in Nashville, for instance, a mother and her son were arrested after falsely accusing a Black man of breaking into their apartment complex parking garage.
The “Karen” phenomenon is a manifestation of the power structure that allows these women to exercise their white privilege. It’s indicative of larger issues with racism and sexism in America today.
Typical Age Range of Racist Karens
After the devastating coronavirus pandemic that killed more than 2 million people, white women who feel entitled to enforce their racist power structures are making a comeback. Their videos featuring them calling the police on Black people and their dogs while shouting racist and anti-socialist slurs at them have gone viral on social media platforms like YouTube.
Karens tend to be highly self-absorbed and believe they have the right to make everyone around them’s life more difficult than necessary. Additionally, Karens often become easily triggered by anything disagreeable which can be extremely frustrating for those who don’t share their view of things.
They may never have experienced real hardship, but their self-absorbed id and sense of entitlement can cause them to act out in ways that aren’t fair to others, especially people of color. This may lead to them being arrested and charged with various crimes such as racism.
Karens are often women, but male Karens have also been caught on camera. Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel even suggested that male Karens be referred to as “Carlsons,” in reference to Fox News personality–and clueless White man–Tucker Carlson.
One recent instance of a racist Karen who got arrested is Miya Ponsetto. She was caught assaulting 14-year-old Keyon Harrold Jr. at a fashionable New York City hotel earlier this year.
The young man who recorded the video of her assault said he was horrified by what he witnessed and wanted to share it with his Facebook fans. Since being published on TikTok, the incident has amassed over 450,000 views.
Karens are not uncommon for them to yell “You need to go back home” or claim they are “deathly afraid” of Black people when they see them walking their dog, but this episode was particularly offensive. And this isn’t the first time a Karen has made headlines for such unhinged behavior; Amy Cooper had her own run-in with law last year when she claimed she was afraid of a Black bird watcher in New York City’s Central Park because he asked her to put her pup on a leash.
Typical Age Range of Rude Karens
Social media has recently witnessed an uprising: people dubbed “Karen,” who are notorious for misbehaving in public. Videos of these individuals tend to go viral, often being recorded and posted to websites such as YouTube, TikTok or SnapTok where they may slander others or make racist statements.
Karens are typically middle aged, white, and live in the suburbs. Usually with children in tow and driving SUVs, these individuals usually sport a short blonde haircut as well as an attitude of entitlement.
They may be rude, demanding and overly dramatic when they feel their rights are being threatened. At times they may resort to hate speech or violence for these reasons.
Dealing with these people can be daunting if you’re not used to it. But there are a few tips that will help you stay ahead of them when they come into your life:
1. If someone attempts to be too demanding with their demands or makes a big fuss over something you don’t agree with, try your best to ignore them. Doing so not only gives them space to calm down but it also prevents them from intensifying their behaviour.
2. If someone attempts to use their authority against you in an unsavory manner, it’s best to avoid engaging them at all costs. This trait of Karens can be dangerous when they use their power inappropriately.
3. If someone attempts to intimidate or bully you, teaming up with other witnesses can often be effective. Doing this allows them to defend themselves and their actions without having to face off against you one on one, providing a safer option than dealing with them one-on-one.
Many people are unaware that many sex-related behaviors are actually considered criminal offenses, but it’s important to remember that gender should never be the determining factor when getting arrested for doing something improper. This lesson applies to everyone when interacting with others – regardless of race or gender – regardless of your race or orientation.
Typical Age Range of Entitled Karens
Karens typically appear as middle-aged women. They usually sport a short blonde hairstyle and often wear sunglasses, and demand to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, some Karens resort to hate speech or violence in public displays of frustration.
These people often get filmed by cameras and then uploaded onto social media, where their outrageous behaviour becomes viral. It can be quite shocking to watch, often leading to entertaining viewing – especially when they get arrested!
These individuals are typically marked by an arrogant sense of entitlement, leading them to become indignant at even minor inconveniences or discomfort. Furthermore, they take delight in creating a scene when things don’t go their way and continuously search for ways to make others feel inferior.
For instance, they may bring expired coupons to a store and demand they be accepted. Furthermore, they have an attitude of looking down upon people working in service positions; this stems from their belief that those employed there possess an arrogant sense of righteousness and moral superiority.
Karens tend to be quite loud, even though they usually own pets such as dogs or cats. In fact, their barking at strangers has become so loud that police have had to intervene several times to protect both pets and people from these annoying individuals.
If you ever find yourself feeling threatened by an entitled Karen, it’s best to avoid them as much as possible. Doing so not only shields you from their negativity but also keeps those around you from becoming sucked into it.
Some Karens with titles can be quite rude and aggressive. This behavior could be due to their inherent desire for dominance, which was passed down from their ancestors.
However, they can also be the result of their own insecurities and fears. For instance, if there is tension within their family, it might lead to them becoming angry at others and display various problematic behaviors such as complete disregard for other people’s feelings and an overall tendency to act with insensitivity.
