Karen Roe is the sole mother of Lucas Scott and owner of TRIC nightclub and Karen’s Cafe. However, her relationship with Dan remains tenuous as she had left him to attend college.
She was also a dedicated friend to Claudia who was struggling with drug dependency and she assisted in her recovery process. Later, they met Joe and fell in love and became romantic partners.
The Burn Book
The Burn Book is a type of journal in which negative opinions about individuals are recorded in private. Materials used to make one can include paper, tape, pencils and pictures – it’s best if this remains strictly private.
The Plastics use this Burn Book to spread vicious rumors and gossip about other girls at their school, written so it appears as though each of the Plastics members are writing directly about themselves.
Other girls also write harmful remarks about Cady and other teachers in the book – specifically math teacher Ms. Norbury who had also been subject to Cady’s defamatory comments.
Noteworthy is the fact that The Plastics created their Burn Book rather than writing directly themselves; thus giving an inaccurate picture of who these girls really are, yet giving us insight into who they were as individuals.
Janis is one of the girls from The Plastics who is highly manipulative towards Cady. Using the Burn Book she spreads lies about Cady to enrage Regina and lead him away from them and into The Plastics group.
Karen and Gretchen against Regina; attempts to cut off Regina’s resources; split her from Aaron Samuels; Cady takes over the role of Queen Bee in The Plastics; etc.
She manipulates in an unfair and cruel manner, endangering lives around her and ruining lives that she touches.
As soon as she and Damian kiss at the dance, they quickly part ways before she takes an honest route by hooking up with Kevin.
Regina’s mother seems discontented with her behavior, which seems rather childish and displays signs of aggression.
Ness has set his novel in near-future America in 1957 and uses Cold War history to create an authentic setting. Drug epidemic is at the core of his plotline; providing much of its dramatic tension as well as comedy. There are plenty of comedic moments as well – Ness does an exceptional job of developing her characters’ emotional journeys in each scene.
Emily Chambers
Vancouver musician Emily Chambers decided to focus on her music career full-time by leaving her insurance job behind and purchasing a 1984 Dodge Ram 250B campervan with plans of touring it across North America.
Van-dweller Sheila Ogbe has equipped her van with a full band set-up, featuring live mic, drum kit, and bass guitar – ideal for soul/R&B artist Sheila who has released two albums of original music.
She has amassed an enormous following on YouTube, becoming known for her vlogs and relationship advice videos.
She currently boasts over 776k subscribers and nearly 340 million views as of May 2018, and also maintains a secondary vlog channel with her fiancee Bria Kam, on which they post videos with relationship advice, personal vlogs and other posts.
Although popular on YouTube, she cannot afford to live permanently in her van. Through Pledge Music campaign she hopes to raise enough funds in order to have her album published and distributed.
Deb Lee (Barbara Alyn Woods), played by Karen’s good friend Barbara Alyn Woods, is Dan Scott’s ex-wife, Nathan’s mother and Karen’s close associate. Deb and Dan went into business together, until Deb’s drug dependency ultimately caused their partnership to fail. Deb battled alcohol and drug issues during season two by setting fire to his car lot hoping he would die but Lucas dragged him safely out. Later she drugged another model so Millicent could take their spot instead!
At the conclusion of season five, she and Skills reconcile. By season six, Victoria admits she should have loved Brooke more than she loved the company.
Tara Richards (Chelsea Kane), owner of Tree Hill Cafe across from Karen’s, employed dubious tactics to win customers, such as planting cockroaches in order to lure customers in; hanging signs that read “Fry Your Burgers, Not Your Babies!” when Dan helped Haley out when staffing was short; planting cockroaches; and hanging up signs with such phrases as: “Fry Your Burgers Not Your Babies!”.
She is also the biological mother of Julian Dupre. When she was an infant, Larry Sawyer died, so she lived with Peyton as her adoptive mother until becoming a teenager and meeting Ellie Harp – whom unfortunately died shortly thereafter from cancer.
Tara Richards
Tara Richards is Millicent’s assistant and also her former flame. Tara tries to launch Millie’s modeling career by drugging another model and leaving Millicent to take her place; Julian does not approve of what Tara wrote for their movie production deal and she later develops feelings for Chase after their relationship has ended with Mia.
She is one of the most beloved members of Tree Hill High, though often accused of untruthfulness or lying. She’s close with Haley and offers advice and support; often seen at Quinn’s gallery opening alongside daughter Alex Dupre who previously featured on Clothes Over Bros.
Robert Theodore Davis and Helene Davis had two daughters. Her mother had Alzheimer’s and her father remarried following her death. She grew up in Las Vegas and played tennis five seasons prior to graduating from Mankato East High School.
As she was growing up, Lucas’ father abandoned them both but she has always remained close to both parents – her mother being especially protective over Lucas, and adoring Andy but upon meeting Andy she realized he wasn’t as good a father figure as anticipated.
In season six, she is introduced as a troubled girl who steals a top from Clothes Over Bros and engages in an altercation with Brooke. Haley enrolls her into his literature class where they encourage writing while their relationship becomes tenuous – eventually being fostered by Brooke herself.
She received her name from her mother and is an avid Beatles fan. She enjoys traveling with her boyfriend as well as running.
Helaine serves as a professor of criminology at the school she helped found in season five, where her work is focused on the criminal justice system, especially how it impacts women. She is an active member of both American Society of Criminology and Victims & Offenders; additionally, she sits on their respective editorial boards.
Andy Hargrove
Professor Andy Hargrove (Kieren Hutchison), one of Tree Hill’s more memorable characters, has appeared since season two and can be found in 17 episodes.
He is an academic who enjoys traveling the globe and has great compassion for those suffering from trauma. Additionally, he’s known to help out when needed – always ready to lend a helping hand when possible.
Larry Sawyer and Peyton Sawyer find him endearing, especially during their father Larry’s business travels. Larry is extremely protective of both Peyton and Sawyer and often talks to Peyton when away for business trips – often overprotectively so.
Kieren Hutchison of New Zealand plays him onscreen. A graduate from the University of Auckland, Kieren has appeared in multiple television shows throughout his career as well as being a popular author.
As a youth, he had a minor role on Shortland Street and has appeared in multiple television series since. Additionally, he starred in multiple films such as The Adventures of Swiss Family Robinson and The Legend of William Tell.
As an actor, he has become a frequent fixture on NBC series One Tree Hill for two seasons as well as appearing as a special guest star on another episode.
In season one, Lucas played a prank and caused havoc by calling out Lucas’ name in the school library, leading to many hilarious miscommunications between himself, Haley, Peyton Brooke and Mia.
As the show went on, he began to understand there was something special about Karen and Lucas that attracted him, eventually moving in with them and becoming Haley’s dad figure.
He owned an impressive car and restaurant in town. Additionally, in his free time he created “A Kid Explains History”, with over 25,000 subscribers and 4 million views on YouTube.
